Theatre Titas PH
THEATRE TITAS is a group of individuals whose common denominator is a passion for theater.
This is a rerun of THEATRE TITAS’ sophomore production, ANG PAGLILITIS KAY MANG SERAPIO. Their first production was a twin-bill titled WHAT’S IN THE DARK? (October 2017), which starred Epy Quizon and Javier Coromina (whose performance was lauded 'as one of the best performances of 2017’ by Theater Fans Manila), THEATRE TITAS is a group that aims to stage a diverse selection of works: classical, new, and experimental. They not only stage, but critique, discuss, interpolate, and share their theatre experiences; usually over a glass of wine, a plate of sushi, two slices of cake each, and a lot of laughter.
DUENDE THEATRE believes in art in alternative spaces. They believe that art should not be limited to traditional venues but should be open for production in various places. They have been successful in achieving this, having staged their plays in coffee shops, restaurants, and even in hotel rooms.
The group’s name alludes to the magic that is experienced by both the audiences and the production group during a beautiful show. It is this same magic the members of Duende Theatre continue to pursue. They have experienced this magic in several of their shows, and they continue looking for it in alternative spaces where they can showcase their brand of theatre: compact, mobile, and easily palatable to a wide array of audiences. Duende Theatre has produced three plays written by Juan Ekis- Kapeng Barako Club: Samahan ng mga Bitter and Twenty Questions, both Palanca award-winning scripts, and Crossing, which won the Best Script award at Short+Sweet 2017.
