For many distinguished soloists, it became their first major break, opening doors to remarkable careers in the Philippines and abroad. Following its successful revival in 2025, the competition now continues as an annual tradition, reaffirming the MSO's commitment to nurturing the next generation of Filipino musicians.Over the years, the competition has helped launch the careers of remarkable artists, including internationally acclaimed pianist Cecile Licad, as well as Cecilia Basilio-Roxas, Elizabeth Basilio, Virginia Laico-Villanueva, and Joselito Pascual, all of whom went on to make significant contributions to Philippine music as performers, educators, and recording artists.Since last year's revival, our 2025 MSO Concerto Competition winners have been invited to perform in prestigious concerts and special events, sharing the stage with distinguished artists and earning recognition for their exceptional musicianship, making names for themselves at a young ages, while demonstrating that the future of Philippine classical music will be very much alive.In celebration of MSO100, we proudly continue this distinguished tradition, welcoming a new generation of young musicians to take the stage and become part of the orchestra's enduring legacy.
